Mr. Phalgunan Poduval, Director

Mr. Poduval is an experienced banking and finance professional with more than three and a half decades experience in the realm of Project Appraisals, Financial Analysis, Assessment of Term Loan and Working Capital requirements of large and medium sized industrial borrowers, industrial Rehabilitation and asset reconstruction. He is equipped with strong academic credentials having acquired an M.Tech from IIT, Kharagpur followed by Cost Accountancy (ICWA) and CAIIB. This rare blend of knowledge and experience stands him in good stead to extend quality advice to clients of Karamel Knowledge Ventures Pvt. Ltd..

Mr, Poduval began his illustrious career with the Syndicate Bank. He was with the bank for about 16 years, and has had the opportunity to appraise the credit requirements of some of the top most borrowers of India such as Reliance, Tata Motors, Sterlite Industries, Siemens, etc.  He has played a crucial role in the Working Capital appraisal of Reliance Industries Ltd. as representative of the Leader of the Consortium bank for about 5 years.

Between 1996 and 2001, Mr. Poduval was the Executive Director of a leading corporate brokerage house dealing on NSE and BSE wherein he assumed responsibilities towards overall administration, business development, liaising with NSE and other stock exchanges, corporate advisory services, etc. and dealing with complex company law matters.

Between 2002 and 2007, Mr. Poduval advised Bonanza Portfolio Ltd., a leading NSE and BSE brokerage house in advancing into the South Indian markets and was instrumental in establishing about 80 branch offices which are all independent profit centers even today.

Concurrently between 2002 and 2012, Mr. Poduval had incepted a proprietorship concern PhalgunKaramel& Associates, which is empanelled with nationalized/ private sector banks in India for project viability studies, stock audit, credit administration, etc. The concern has undertaken more than 500 stock audit assignments and more than 4000 inspections of units financed by these banks. This firm, which employs about twelve very experienced and retired banking professionals, has also conducted techno-economic viability studies in respect of more than 80 projects.
